EU's Von Der Leyen Wins Confidence Vote Over Pfizer Texts
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen survived a no-confidence vote over text messages she sent to Pfizer Inc. Chief Executive Officer Albert Bourla during the Covid pandemic.
The European Parliament voted against the move with 360 lawmakers voting against the motion, 175 voting for and 18 abstaining. The censure motion required a two-thirds majority to pass.
